Trail Report February 12, 2017

Well with Dad grooming on Tuesday last week and I groomed yesterday we are looking better all the time. We have almost got the water bars filled in and I was able to groom all the trails yesterday for the first time this year! With the snow in the forecast today and Monday once we get the trails groomed in they should be in great shape. There were a lot of riders out yesterday and the ones that I spoke to said that they were very pleased with the efforts that our club puts into the trails to make them rideable even with low snow conditions.

We had a rider contact us because he could not find his way past RD 650. He was on the trail and then came to a brush pile and did not see any trail markers so he turned around. Yesterday was the first time since opening day that we had been that far with the Tucker do to snow conditions and I found a couple of arrows missing and the brush pile was a top to a down tree. So I put up signs and cleared the down tree and the trail is back open. Once again if any one has issues finding their way contact us and we will try to fix the problem as soon as possible. Oh by the way that down tree was no match for a chain saw and Tucker as you can see!

I hope that every one will get out and enjoy what Shrewsbury and VAST has to offer!

Shrewsbury club always has some of the best maintained trails. I often like circling down through Ludlow for lunch but the trails down that way don’t allow my aging body to take that kind of abuse. I could be happy just riding Shrewsury sno-birds trails all day!
