Trail Report January 30, 2017

Yes we have a more optimistic trail report! Dad and I were out on Sunday and groomed up all the upper trails and as far North as the snow allowed. On 4&7 we almost got to RD 650 and on 407 we got a little over 1/2 way from RD 651 to RD 649. Other than a few water bars still flowing water things are looking nice for the still slim conditions. There were a lot of trees that we had to cut or push to open the trails. The wind must have been really bad! The snow is rock solid so with just a few inches of snow it is still very rideable. It is not a fast trail system but with a moderate speed the riders that we saw yesterday were having a good time. We filled in a lot of the water bars but some need more snow. Dad and Ray Duquette will be out on Thursday after the anticipated snow on Tuesday and Wednesday to try to fill more of them.

We also groomed down to Route 100 for the Snofliers. This is a photo I took early Sunday morning down on the last sharp corner just before WR 80 we were headed back up the hill. We had to stop and tighten up one track as it started to jump the sprocket.

If any one can help me on Saturday as I am going to focus on filling water bars as I am grooming. This will involve hand work, cutting trees and branches and shoveling snow. One person can ride with me and if more can help they can ride their sleds. Let me know if I can plan on you for help. Thank you.
