We had 8 volunteers show up in the freezing rain to install the studs. They were in, in less than 2 hours. There are 175 studs per track and a total of 700 studs. The front tracks are really worn and the width of the rubber grouser is narrower than the rear tracks. The front tracks are the original ones from 2006, Track Inc. said that we have done really well and they are now past their life expectancy. We will see how they hold up with installing the new studs. At $7,000.00 per track at last check, we do not want to replace them if we do not have to. I want to thank Dave, Doc, Scott R., John, Ray M., Mike S., and Eugene B. for coming to help with this project. I hope they all made it home safe! I did not have my cell phone so there is no photo of them. Some of them are kinda camera shy anyway.
Our next meeting is this Tuesday January 11. Starting as usual at 7:00 PM at the Southside Steakhouse in Rutland. Hope to see you there!
