I have been told that there is 4″ of fresh snow at the groomer shed this morning! Dave also said that he heard that there was approximately 8″ on the Killington access road. If anyone has any totals on our trail system let us know. We will be out in the next few days to groom up the trails! Ride Safely and Ride Right! Roy.

We had some wet snow that stuck to everything before the colder snow fell here in Brandon. Did Shrewsbury get that too? Here it made a layer of crunchy snow that adheres to any ice. Hopefully this will provide the groomer better traction for hill climbs. I don’t think you’ll miss running the winch!

I will find this out tomorrow when I talk to Ed. Dad did not know if it turned crunchy but it did at first have moisture in it. You did most of the work that day and I do thank you again for your help!
The hardest part was when I was about to re-hook the winch cable for another pull up the iciest hill we encountered when the Tucker, with you in the driver’s seat, started slipping backwards. I saw the tracks were not turning so you must have had your foot on the brake but they were just sliding anyway. The cable was still in my hands so started pulling me down the ice too so I just had to let go and watch helplessly as the whole rig slid back down the hill. Thankfully it jackknifed with the groomer and stopped before slipping all the way off the trail which was the direction it was headed. I bet that got your blood pumping!
Yes, I did the leg work winching back up the hill but I didn’t mind. It was that helpless feeling of watching you and the Tucker slide down the hill I didn’t like. We took precautions and it didn’t happen again. I’m very glad there were no snowmobiles waiting for us to get out of their way at the bottom of that hill! I’d say giving the groomer plenty of room on the hills is probably a good safety practice!
My son Sam and I have ridden for the last 2 days from Plymsbury (SP) and the snow is awesome. Good coverage heading over to the stone house and over into Mendon. Not crunchy, but fluffy. We are new to riding and the club as we just joined a couple of weeks ago but live right in town on Lottery Road. We enjoy your work and dedication, thank you.
