Trail Report January 19, 2013

4&7 In Wheelerville on Rutland City Watershed lands.

4&7 In Wheelerville on Rutland City Watershed lands.

We just got back from grooming, we started at 2am this morning. we groomed most everything except 407 from Bove’s camp area to the Notch Road. Not too many people had been on it and it was snow-covered and flat so we did not groom it. The rest of the trails are pretty flat but slim on snow depth. Some of the water bars have started to open up and with not much snow to drag into them, the riders need to use caution when riding. The trails are definitely rideable, but we are back to early season conditions, too bad because they were really getting nice before the warm spell! Go and have some fun, but ride for the conditions. We waited as long as we could this week to try to get more snow to help cover the trails. Every one do a snow dance for the cause!!

The dark spots past the bridge are low snow areas and watch for rocks that the groomer might have picked out of the ground! These are things that riders need to watch our for because of the conditions. But as you can see the over all trail is nice and flat!

Ride Safely and Ride Right!

Avoid parking at girl scout camp… Hill climb back to parking lot is all rock and ice…

Todays high winds blew down a tree across the 7 trail south of the stonehouse… Its at about head height, just able to fit underneath if you see it coming… Might be able to out tmrw and cut it out of the trail… Will post if i do…

A tree across on 7. It is just south of the intersection with the Tin Shanty Camp road. It wasn’t there when we went over to Clement Shelter but was across when we returned. A snowmobile can go under. It was too big to take out by hand. It will need a chainsaw.
