Trail Report March 19, 2018

I was out and groomed our trails again Sunday. They are the best that I have seen all season. Good flat and hard thanks to the cold temps. There are no water areas open at this time. Every one that I saw out there were very happy. It took us over 38 hours to get the trails back to where we want them, but we got it done.

I also started clearing the snow off the Clemit Shelter Roof. Then Howie Bott and Al stopped and asked it I wanted help. I said sure and showed him where the other shovel was and he climbed up and started shoveling. Then Dan Roma and Dan Black stopped and gave me a break and a little more than an hour it was cleared! When you see the photos you will see how much snow was on the roof. It had to be 3 feet deep! I want to really thank them for helping me with that project!

Remember that Tuesday night is our club meeting at 7:00.

With the trails as smooth as they are don’t go too fast as one sled came around a corner on our narrow upper trail at a good speed and there I was with the Tucker. He said that, that was an eye opener. He did get it stopped in time so all was good. If you like how are trails are groomed let VAST know. Our club some day might get the Best Groomed Trails Award!

A group that was parked at the Groomer Shed Parking Lot on Sunday. All but one was from Chittenden and the other was from Brandon. Some of the guys in the photo help Paul with their trails.

Our new bridge looks great!

This is the same place I was in with the next photo. What a difference a few days make!

This was a few days a go.
