I was out grooming as best that I could yesterday and did 41+ miles. The snow compacts down to not much and there is dirt showing in some areas especially in the water bar areas. The gates are open except the one at the Notch due to the slim conditions and vehicles might get on the trail so
if you want to venture out be very careful because of the conditions. I did all the upper trails, 4&7 to RD650 and then to McLaughlin Falls, 407 to the red gate, RD651 to RD65 and RD676 to the plowed road by Stouts. You will be clicking rocks probably and some water crossings are not froze yet. There were no trees down thanks to John and Ben Hogan and Scott Ryan for going out last week and clearing every thing. Dad plowed the parking lot at the Groomer Shed and I did the one at the notch. Ryan from the State rode with me to see what it is like in early season with the water bars.and we discussed trail improvements with water crossings and other misc things. It was a good day and we did not get stuck or as Paul Racine would say “we did not loose forward movement” We were out 8 hours. Again if you go out ride carefully!
