I was up in Wheelerville this morning and the trails look really good! But I was wondering what happened to one of our gates? It looks like someone could have been hurt! There were parts of a sled there, I picked them up as to not have garbage on the trail. If any one has any info on this please let us know! We hope that everyone is ok! Here are some photos. Wow, that’s a heavy gate! Hard to imagine a snowmobile bending it that much.
I Think those Gates are a HAZARD to say the least
I almost ran into them myself
Why are they not down like the rest of the trails in Vt during snowmobile season?
Keep up the GREAT work Roy!
Thanks

It is the requirement to keep them closed to keep the land owner permission! We will not have a trail if we don’t keep them closed. If they did not hit that they would never have stoped for the road either and could have hit an automobile or some one walking. They are signed to slow down and they have stop ahead signs and arrows showing the direction of turning so in my opinion first of all if you are not familiar with the trail do as I always say RIDE SAFELY AND RIDE RIGHT! and if you are familiar with the trails do the same! I’m glad that I was not meeting the person with a sled or better yet the groomer! It would have been really bad a few weeks ago when the Tucker slid back down the hill and we were winching back up the hill if people came too fast over the hill! We really need to be carefull to be able to ride another day!

We may have to get the club to spend some more money for some better signs that we can attach to the gates in the winter. I bring that up at our next meeting! If you have more saftey concerns please let us know, thank you!

Edward, I’ve changed the blocked out IP addresses. Can you access the site now?
I am in again thank you. By the way the trails have lots of cover, but getting pretty bumped out for my old sled :-)
